 Summary:

This is a remote Application Engineer position with the option to work from our Rochester or Syracuse NY offices. Reporting to the Technical Support Manager, you will act as a product specialist for the SOLIDWORKS portfolio of products. This role requires strong customer service skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail. Our hours of service are 8:00am to 5:00pm EST   

In this role, you should expect to:

  • Be the Customer’s hero, who loves diagnosing and solving problems for others.
  • Respond to all in-bound customer communication (written and verbal) in an unscripted knowledgeable, pleasant, and professional manner. 
  • Provide best practices recommendations based on customer requirements.
  • Install, on-board, and configure SOLIDWORKS portfolio of products to customer requirements.
  • Prioritize critical issues and take responsibility for a successful resolution.
  • Be a thorough, detail oriented, quick-on-their-feet, outside-of-the-box thinker who will act as a software detective.
  • Partake in knowledge sharing activities, publishing technical marketing videos, supplying technical presentations, and reviewing documentation
  • Obtain relevant certifications in the SOLIDWORKS portfolio of products.
  • Travel to Company sponsored events (Up to 10% travel may be needed once travel restrictions are lifted per official health regulations.)

  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Technology or related field.  
  • 1-2 years of full time 3D CAD experience
  • Understanding of Microsoft Windows, PC hardware, and basic computer networking
  • Exceptional communication, organization, and follow-up skills
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem resolution skills
  • Friendly, helpful attitude toward customer relationship

Bonus points if you have:

  • Experience with data management utilizing PDM/PLM
  • Knowledge of SOLIDWORKS family of product
  • Experience with other CAD platforms such as Fusion360, Onshape, Creo, etc.
