Update to Create Better Looking Simulation Plots

Back in April of 2015, I wrote a blog on how to overlay your SOLIDWORKS Simulation Plots onto a rendered image of your assembly. If you haven’t read that article, check it out here.

Now that you read it, forget it, and upgrade to SOLIDWORKS 2017. There is a new feature in 2017 named “Simulation Display”. This allows you to view your simulation results in the context of the overall assembly.

Not only can you view the static results, you can animate, overlay, and even render with PhotoView 360!

So the very manual (and let’s face it, crude) method I wrote about is now obsolete. My theory is that the SOLIDWORKS developers read my blog and implemented a solution! So next time you have to present your simulation results, check out the new features in SOLIDWORKS 2017. You will be pleasantly surprised, and so will the people you are presenting to!

If you want more information on how to set up these engaging visuals, give us a call. Be sure to subscribe to our Tech Tip videos as I will be releasing a Tip on setting this up in the near future.

Thanks for reading and as always, Happy Simulating!
