Start Simple, Expand Wider with 3DEXPERIENCE

Getting Started

The 3DEXPERIENCE Platform has proven valuable for bringing the cloud to SOLIDWORKS customers, helping them expand their business while aligning their teams by adding data management to their process. After all, it is an important step in ensuring the health of the IP you create. Data management doesn’t just mean revision control and a release process, It can be as simple as making sure you don’t have duplicates and that everyone knows which is the latest. Can it be simple? Absolutely! Can it meet the needs of a more complex organization? The answer is YES!! Many customers have already invested in making the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform a critical piece of their process. Check out this webinar if you’re just getting started with 3DEXPERIENCE.

Getting started with Collaboration

Growth mindset requires you to surround yourself with the right people and products. Staying disciplined can extend to many other departments in your organization without leaving the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform. Set the path guided by the platform and keep reading to explore how much further you can go with the 3DEXPERIENCE Works portfolio of products.

Get wider and EXPAND

Getting wider and aligning departments should be synonymous. First, find out how the data, that is now stored and managed in the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform, can be utilized by others in your organization. Disconnected tools create barriers. 3DEXPERIENCE breaks down those barriers by bringing in tools to join your teams together. Here are a few tools within the platform, called roles, that you should explore.

  • Product Release Engineer: Reduce the time it takes to define product structures. Do you sell a configurable product? Product Release Engineer allows you to put together product structures by maximizing reuse.
  • 3DProduct Architect: Working in a multi-CAD environment can create all sorts of chaos. It shouldn’t be that hard. Tools like 3DProduct Architect allow you to unify your CAD structures no matter what CAD package you use.
  • Project Planner: Project Planning doesn’t need to be cumbersome. Team led projects require appropriate task-based tools with enough power to provide value without excess overhead. Project Planner will allow your team to define scope, dependencies and milestones in a simple task-based approach. Simple but significant!
  • Collaborative Designer: Uniting people around one Platform is important. In order to accomplish this in engineering you must have support for other tools. Collaborative Designer tools brings in enterprise-wide sharing and connects the following tools to the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform. Autocad, Inventor, Draftsight, NX, SolidEdge, Creo, Catia V5 ( V6 is built on 3DX), Altium

You need to get started if you haven’t already. If you have then it’s the time to start looking at getting wider and expanding. CADimensions can help and guide you through these conversations. Let’s get started.
