SOLIDWORKS MBD is capable of opening files that contain PMI from STEP 242 files. This format contains the capabilities of both STEP 203 and 214. It also includes the Product and Manufacturing Information or PMI metadata. The PMI allows us to share the dimensions in the 3D model without the need to create drawings.
