A workaround to Solidworks's lack of forward-compatibility, via saving the part as a universal file and opening it in the past version.
In this article I’ll be discussing each of the file types SOLIDWORKS Part files are capable of saving, with particular emphasis on the Universal 3D Modeling files commonly used to transfer components between different programs.
This article will outline the steps to import a SOLIDWORKS created model into the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. By utilizing this process, models will remain linked between SOLIDWORKS and 3DEXPERIENCE, with any changes made to the SOLIDWORKS model reflected on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
